Meat Market
The site of the former Anderlecht cattle market dates from 1890. This covered market is a typical example of forged-iron architecture which became fashionable after the 1850 World Exhibition in London.
Also known as the slaughterhouses of Anderlecht. But on Sunday the hall and neighbourhoods change into a sizzling moving mixture of people and market stalls where anything imaginable can be found. The pigeons told me I was right…
On the road with Lies, Jules, Griet, Shanti and me… Watch the multitasking performances by the women and especially Griet then who whilst drinking a beer and having a cigarette can hold Shantis leash, order some fruit, holding all the other bags whilst posing for the camera. It’s a men’s world… but I think men lost a long time ago… the only thing I was able to do…all at the same time… was taking pictures… anyway… a nice day with cool people…
