Whale’s mouth…

2007.06.17

A slow start on the 16th day of this month of June in Houwaart… Before noon two rather intense showers that didn’t last longer than a few minutes. In the afternoon the situation becomes more interesting. A lot of small showers that occasionally produce thunder enter Belgium from over France. Not a lot of interesting photo moments till 4 in the afternoon but then a nice growing shower came over to visit. It produced a few thunder but no visible lightning.

In the evening a more active thunderstorm but at a nice distance. Not worth for a chase according to radar. But it was nice to see it from a distance for once.

The thunderstorm produced some very small mammatus. Underneath a timelapse from the passing mammatus field.

In the evening just before sunset some nice convection was visible in the neighborhood of Leuven. Pictures taken on the E4O towards Brussels and on the R0 between Zaventem and Grimbergen…
