I wasn’t really planning to stay overnight but I guess it was the possibility of snow in the morning that kept me attached a little longer to this place… or did I just have good times in very good company…?

I woke up around 6 AM , listening to what appeared to be rain. It was melting snow producing a well-defined pattern as if an old clock had been placed behind the window. Time ticking away… Time to hit the road… I decided to take the same roads as yesterday… well, the snow helped me, without snow I would have chosen a different path… and I wanted to see Avioth’s Notre Dame in the snow… I guess adventure is always really simple, don’t think to much… go! I took the same road as yesterday but in a clockwise direction… Difficult driving,especially when taking pictures whilst driving… and… this region has nothing to do with Flanders, this is not at all a flat region… we seem to have quite a few of climbs and descents that we can capitalize… but big fun until I hit a Climb between  Margny and Breux.  Euh,  a good amount of cars passed and the fresh snow(a good  10 cm) has changed into a flattened icy Olympic bobsled publicity stunt. I am alone. Nobody can see me slam into the side of the road and get stuck… In my simple and linear thinking I decide to go for a walk in the surrounding woods, I am not bothered at all by the fact my car has been stopped by an under zero factor…

It was peaceful for a few moments… a car shows up in opposite direction. It stops and after a few seconds of full stop gently starts sliding towards me.

BANG… (there goes my walk in fairy tale forest…),  I had an accident whilst NOT moving and there was a woman involved… Always nice… we had a nice chat (our opened front door windows matched nearly perfect) and when I got out through the passenger door,  a local native renting 4×4 jeep tour cars came dancing up the road with his jeep… the messiah had arrived… he didn’t show us the light, he just helped us on our path. I had one goal … i.e. to visit Avioth AGAIN…in the snow… Life can be so good…the simpler the better…
